Trust Lands To Be Sold At Auction

The next statewide trust land sale will be held Friday, March 6, 1998, at 10:00 a.m., in the Auditorium of the State Office Building on Capitol Hill, Salt Lake City. The auction is conducted by the Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration. The public is invited to the sale either to participate or to observe. The revenue generated by land sales is put into the permanent funds of Utah schools and other beneficiaries. The permanent funds are not spent, but are invested by the State Treasurer to provide perpetual payments to the beneficiaries. This auction includes 15 separate parcels totaling more than 3,500 acres: 320 acres just west of Koosharem Reservoir 233 acres just west of Koosharem Reservoir 46 acres near Torrey, at the base of Boulder Mountain 662 acres one mile northwest of La Sal Junction Five one-acre lots on Widtsoe Town Site in John's Valley, 13 miles north of Bryce Canyon 480 acres near Photograph Gap, 15 miles north of Monticello 80 acres near Photograph Gap, 15 miles north of Monticello 640 acres three and one-half miles south of Sevier Dry Lake 647 acres three and one-half miles south of Sevier Dry Lake 280 acres five miles southeast of Delta 120 acres about one and one-half miles east of Highway 89, near Aurora For more information on the properties being offered for sale and the auction process, call the Trust Lands Administration in Salt Lake City at 538-5100. The School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration is an independent state agency which manages 3.7 million acres of Utah trust lands exclusively for the benefit of Utah's schools and other public institutions.
