Tom Faddies Named Realty Specialist

Tom Faddies of Provo, Utah, has joined the State of Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration as a Realty Specialist with responsibilities for sand and gravel permits and industrial leases. Faddies was formerly an executive with Barrick Resources (USA) Mercur Gold Mine. There he was responsible for mine operations and maintenance until the closing of the mine in 1997. Faddies has A.S. and B.S. degrees from Weber State College and an M.S. degree from the University of Utah. He has served on the board for the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining for the past five years. He currently serves on the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission's Environmental and Safety Committee. He is a past member of the Mining Industrial Council of Missouri - Public Lands Committee; a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers; and a charter member of the Utah Geological Association. His career spans more than 25 years in a wide variety of earth resources activities. "We are very pleased to have the range of experience and integrity Tom brings to our team," says Trust Lands Administration Assistant Director Kevin Carter. "He will keep us on target to achieve prudent and profitable returns for the schoolchildren and other trust beneficiaries of the state." The School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration is an independent state agency which manages 3.7 million acres of Utah trust lands exclusively for the benefit of Utah's schools and other public institutions.
